Jang Ye-chan: Jang Dong-hyeok to 'Drain the Pus' from Lee Jae-myung, then Expand Base

Jang Ye-chan, Deputy Director of the Yeouido Institute, predicted that Jang Dong-hyeok, Secretary-General of the People Power Party, will focus on resolving internal conflicts and broadening his support base. Speaking on MBC radio on the 16th, he argued that Secretary-General Jang will resolve the Lee Jae-myung-related controversy within this year and then begin expanding his base next year. He also stated that the recent controversy over the party members' bulletin board will be resolved within the year. On 'Kwon Soon-pyo's News High Kick' that day, Deputy Director Jang said of Secretary-General Jang, "This year he will do the dirty work, enduring even harsh criticism, and play the role of draining the pus from former Chairman Han." He added, "From the beginning of next year, he will take on the role of approaching the center through full-fledged expansion of his base." Deputy Director Jang also mentioned the 'party members' bulletin board situation' that recently erupted within the party.

He said, "It is important to collect and communicate various opinions from party members, but it is never desirable to hide behind anonymity and pour out indiscriminate criticism and speculation." He emphasized, "We will actively accept healthy criticism and constructive suggestions, but we will deal decisively with malicious attacks and the spread of false information." He added, "We will improve the party members' bulletin board system within this year and review measures to limit anonymity." Deputy Director Jang explained that his past criticism of former Chairman Han was "constructive criticism for the development of the party, and there was no personal feeling at all." He said, "I will not hesitate to offer necessary harsh criticism for the development of the party in the future, but I will focus on presenting alternatives and policy proposals rather than criticism." Meanwhile, the People Power Party recently appointed Kim Min-soo, a member of the Supreme Council, as the Chairman of the National Communication Committee, and Jang Ye-chan, former member of the Supreme Council, as the Deputy Director of the Yeouido Institute.
