People Power Party Launches Daejeon Youth Committee, Criticizes Lee Jae-myung Government's Fairness Issues
The People Power Party (PPP) Daejeon City branch launched its Youth Committee on December 13th, signaling a focus on youth-centered policies and demanding a responsible response from the Lee Jae-myung government regarding issues of fairness. The PPP Daejeon announced that, through the launch of the Youth Committee, it plans to more actively reflect the voices of the youth generation and develop and promote policies that young people can feel.
At the launch ceremony, Lee Eun-kwon, chairman of the PPP Daejeon, described the launch of the Youth Committee as "the birth of a leading force that will lead the future of the party," expressing his anticipation for the role of the Youth Committee. Lee Eun-kwon said, "The fresh ideas and passion of young people will inject new vitality into the PPP Daejeon," and added, "We will actively support young people so that they can grow into the main players responsible for Daejeon's future."
Woo Jae-jun, the PPP's youth supreme council member, emphasized that the Youth Committee should be an important communication channel for conveying the realities and problems of the youth generation to the party. Woo Jae-jun emphasized, "It is important to listen directly to the difficulties of young people and look at policies from their perspective," and said, "I hope that the Youth Committee will faithfully fulfill its role in representing the voices of young people."
Jeon Chan-kyu, the inaugural chairman of the PPP Daejeon Youth Committee, expressed his commitment to nurturing young people as the core force of the party and announced plans to promote various programs to expand youth political participation and strengthen their capabilities. Jeon Chan-kyu said, "We will create a venue for young people to take an interest in politics and participate actively, and we will strengthen the capabilities of young people to support their growth as future leaders."
In particular, Jeon Chan-kyu urged the Lee Jae-myung government to provide a clear explanation and fundamentally improve the system regarding fairness controversies such as admission irregularities, power-related morality issues, and preferential treatment allegations, which have recently become major social issues. Jeon Chan-kyu emphasized, "Fairness is one of the values that the youth generation considers most important," and added, "The Lee Jae-myung government must clearly explain these fairness controversies and actively take steps to improve the system to prevent recurrence."
The Youth Committee plans to focus on discovering and promoting policies that young people can feel, such as creating youth jobs, stabilizing housing, and expanding educational opportunities. An official from the PPP Daejeon said, "With the launch of the Youth Committee as an opportunity, we will strengthen communication with the youth generation and actively reflect their opinions to promote policies for the development of Daejeon."
