Yoon Suk-yeol's Side Reportedly Willing to Accept Electronic Monitoring if Kim Keon-hee is Granted Bail

President Yoon Suk-yeol's office has reportedly indicated a willingness to accept electronic monitoring for Kim Keon-hee if she is granted bail. Kim is currently in custody facing allegations of stock manipulation involving Deutsch Motors.

During a bail hearing held on November 12th at the Seoul Central District Court, Kim's lawyers pleaded for her release. "Her health is deteriorating rapidly, she is muttering to herself in jail," the lawyers stated, expressing concern for her well-being.

Kim's legal team proposed limiting her residence to her home and a hospital as conditions for bail. Furthermore, they emphasized that she would accept all bail conditions, including a ban on cell phone use and the wearing of an electronic monitoring device.

On November 3rd, Kim had previously requested bail, citing dizziness and anxiety. She argued that her health justified being allowed to stand trial outside of custody. However, the special prosecutor's team countered that releasing Kim would create a significant risk of evidence tampering. They strongly opposed her release.

The special prosecutor's team confirmed that individuals identified as Mr. Yu, Mr. Jung, and former administrative officials visited Kim at the Southern Detention Center between August and October. This raises concerns about potential interference with evidence. The special prosecutor has issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Lee, who allegedly introduced geomancer 'Gun-jin' to Kim, but Mr. Lee is currently at large. The special prosecutor's office is actively searching for him.

Legal circles are divided on the likelihood of Kim Keon-hee being granted bail. Some argue that her health condition should be taken into consideration, while others emphasize the undeniable risk of evidence tampering. The outcome of this bail hearing is expected to significantly impact the progress of Kim's trial. The court's decision will determine the future trial schedule and whether Kim remains in custody. The next hearing is scheduled for November 20th and will involve further evidence review and witness questioning. The court is expected to carefully weigh the arguments from both sides before reaching a decision.
