Gyeonggi Provincial Council Donates Three More Ambulances to Darkhan-Uul Province, Mongolia
The Gyeonggi Provincial Council has further solidified its 17-year-long friendship with Darkhan-Uul Province, Mongolia, by donating three additional ambulances. This support aims to improve the health of Mongolian residents who lack sufficient medical resources.
A delegation from the Gyeonggi Provincial Council's Parliamentary Friendship Alliance visited Darkhan-Uul Province and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from October 27th to 31st to discuss specific ways to expand exchange and cooperation between the two regions. This visit was a reciprocal response to the Darkhan-Uul Provincial Council's visit to the Gyeonggi Provincial Council in February, marking the 19th mutual visit since the initial exchange in 2013, highlighting its significance.
On October 29th, the Gyeonggi Provincial Council delegation met with Yangzmaa Altangerel, Chairperson of the Darkhan-Uul Provincial Council, to discuss ways to promote institutional exchanges between local councils. Various cooperative measures were also discussed, including strengthening disaster response and safety cooperation, and expanding exchanges in culture, education, and healthcare.
In particular, the Gyeonggi Provincial Council delegation visited the Darkhan-Uul Agricultural Science Research Institute to explore agricultural technology cooperation. They also visited the Department of Culture, Arts, Tourism, and Youth to discuss specific plans for expanding cultural exchange. Furthermore, they visited Fire Station No. 22 and the rescue squad to engage in in-depth discussions on strengthening disaster response systems.
On October 28th, the Gyeonggi Provincial Council held an ambulance donation ceremony at the Darkhan-Uul Department of Health, donating three additional ambulances. This marks the fourth ambulance donation by the Gyeonggi Provincial Council since 2017, contributing to a total of 378 emergency patient transports to date.
An official from the Gyeonggi Provincial Council stated, "We hope that this ambulance support will improve access to emergency medical services for Mongolian residents and, furthermore, contribute to improving their quality of life." They added, "The Gyeonggi Provincial Council will continue to promote mutual development and further strengthen friendly relations with Darkhan-Uul Province, Mongolia, through continuous exchange and cooperation."
Meanwhile, in Ulaanbaatar, the Gyeonggi Provincial Council delegation met with officials from the University of Finance and Economics and the Korea-Mongolia Development Research Institute to discuss academic and urban development cooperation, broadening the scope of exchange. It is reported that both sides explored specific cooperative measures, such as developing academic exchange programs and promoting joint research projects.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Council reaffirmed the importance of exchange and cooperation between local councils through this visit to Darkhan-Uul Province, Mongolia. The Gyeonggi Provincial Council plans to continue to enhance the status of Gyeonggi Province through various international exchange activities and strive to positively impact the lives of its residents.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Council announced that it will create tangible results in various fields, including agriculture, culture, and disaster response, through continuous cooperation with Darkhan-Uul Province, Mongolia. Furthermore, it plans to continue to strengthen friendly relations with Mongolia and strive for mutual development.
